Did you ever think of having a museum right in the palm of your hand? Well, it seems to be impossible but that’s what is intended by this new mobile application developed by the Lisbon Museu da Marioneta with Samsung support. It is a program supported by Android and iOS systems for tablets and smartphones and it is available in portuguese or english. Using this app, knowing Museu da Marioneta and its collection of puppets from all the word is just like an interactive and funny trip full of knowledge!
Even though this app has programs to ones who visit our museum in Lisbon – like family guided games to discover the collection –, everyone can upload it for free. For it, use the proper QR Code or just look for it using Google Play or Apple Store markets, according to your equipment. That way, you can know a lot of curiosities about our puppets and have a sort of virtual tour.
These tour stars with thai khon masks and travels all the Orient, where the puppetry tradition is ancestral. From indonesian and chinese shadow theaters to Vietnamese water puppet, there are millions of stories and faces to find out. Then you go through central Europe – with all those glove puppets descendent from italian Pulcinella – , wood masks from Africa and mamulengos from Brazil. This tour ends with a great variety of puppets and the animation cinema and TV in Portugal. This is a real tour around the world and it lasts just as long as you want it to last.
