- Puppet Festival starting in 1984 and becoming international in 1988. In 2012 it will arrive at its 25 year anniversary. With the collaboration and sponsorship of different public and private entities, Festitíteres is organized by the city hall in all its editions.
- Alicante has a long tradition and taste for Puppets, well documented from the S. XVII with performances by national and foreign companies that made their performances in theaters, Squares, Fiestas ….
- Festitíteres, well connected with the tradition, seeks to spread the art of puppetry and different forms of expression. His background makes it deeply rooted as one of the most traditional festivals of the Valencian Community, which have participated throughout its history (since 1984), 295 groups from 43 different countries and cultures, which has helped to disseminate a wide range of technical, aesthetic, characters, traditions etc … that show creativity and universal screening of puppetry. Its programming includes shows for school groups, families and adults in various performance venues, both in closed room and outdoors.
